A Little About Me
An academic journey begun in a wood-framed schoolhouse in Appalachia eventuated to a Ph.D. at the University of Virginia. Life-long learning is core. Accountability is fundamental. Teaching has included self-contained eighth grade (country school), high school English, and a variety of subjects in college and university, e.g., lecturer for ninety students in a women’s lib class at the University of Virginia, classes in prisons, factories, and other non-residential classrooms. Criminology studies and teaching prison officials and law enforcement officers broadened an understanding of deviant human behavior.
